Everyone wins with Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)!
The CSA model benefits customers by ensuring them access to excellent-quality, fresh, local food. Simultaneously, it benefits farmers by providing them with capital early in the season, when expenses for seed and equipment are highest.
Long Winter Farm uses a farmstand credit-based CSA model. As a member, you pay for your share early in the season and get a 15% credit at our farmstand. Shop at your leisure (Friday 2pm through Sunday during reasonable daylight hours), tally up your bounty, subtract it from your credit, and enjoy!
The maximum share size available for 2018 is $500 ($575 credit). Smaller shares are also available. Your credit must be used up by the end of the season. Credit can be used towards produce and pastured eggs; it cannot be used for our pastured chicken, turkey, pork, or beef.
New for 2018 is a Tuesday afternoon pick-up of a small ($20) or large ($35) box of whatever is fresh and bountiful at the farm. This is a great option if you go out of town and miss the farmstand weekend, or realize you need more produce than you thought! Order your box weekly by Sunday, pick up your box on Tuesday afternoon, and deduct from your farmstand credit. You are not obligated to use this option all season – just order a box when you’d like one!
We project being open from early May through mid-October. CSA members will receive farmstand updates via e-mail.
We are very happy to be able to offer a few subsidized CSA shares this year!
We have partnered with the Northeastern Organic Farmers Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT)’s Farm Share program to offer subsidized membership for limited-income community members. Our partnership depends on community donations to the Farm Share program. To learn more about donating or applying for a share, please visit NOFA-VT’s Farm Share page .
Email Annie at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about CSA membership availability. Shares are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
